The mood in the German timber industry remained negative in July 2023.\u00a0The reason for this was the sharp drop in satisfaction with current business.\u00a0On the other hand, companies' expectations were slightly better than in the previous month.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0The German timber industry views the second half of the year with skepticism in view of the slump in demand for construction, the deterioration in financing conditions and the decline in incoming orders.<\/span><\/p>\n

In view of the different impacts on the individual segments, the mood in the German timber industry remained mixed.\u00a0The companies in the construction-related area of \u200b\u200bthe timber industry (+18 points) and in prefabricated timber construction still assessed their current business situation as positive.\u00a0However, expectations in all segments indicated negative developments in the coming months.<\/span><\/p>\n

In particular, the sawmill industry (-74.1 points), the wood packaging industry (-67.1 points) and prefabricated timber construction (-54.5 points) have recently looked to the future with concern. These segments are expecting a significant deterioration in the business situation in the coming six months.\u00a0This is mainly due to the declining demand for construction and the fall in real incomes.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
