Fewer homes will be completed in Europe by 2025.\u00a0In Germany, a decline of 32% is to be expected.<\/span><\/p>\n European housing construction is in crisis.\u00a0This is shown\u00a0by calculations by the Euroconstruct research group\u00a0, to which the Munich-based Ifo Institute belongs.<\/p>\n General uncertainty<\/strong><\/p>\n \"In addition to the abrupt turnaround in interest rates and the jump in costs for construction work, the general uncertainty about the medium-term development of real estate prices is leading to pronounced reluctance among builders and interested parties,\" says ifo construction expert Ludwig Dorffmeister.<\/p>\n Sweden (minus 39%), Denmark (minus 33%) and Hungary (minus 29%) can also expect a particularly strong decline in completed apartments in the years 2023 to 2025.<\/p>\n Too little funding for new construction<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cCurrently, only around a third of the country experts reported attractive subsidies for new construction,\u201d says Dorffmeister.\u00a0Positive impetus comes from Ireland (plus 17%), Portugal (plus 15%), Spain (plus 12%) and Slovakia (plus 11%).<\/p>\n In Germany, orders are expected to fall by 32% by 2025. According to the ifo business survey in June, the lack of orders in German residential construction has worsened.<\/p>\n Crash in Germany<\/strong><\/p>\n 34.5% of the companies surveyed report that they have too few orders.\u00a0In May it was 33.9%.\u00a0This is the highest level since April 2010.
