In June, standing sales of timber in Finland saw significant price increases. The average price paid for spruce logs was EUR 77.8 per cubic meter, while pine logs fetched EUR 73.7 per cubic meter. Real prices experienced a slight dip of two percent compared to May, but they remained four to five percent higher than the average for the previous year.<\/span><\/p>\n Birch logs commanded an average price of EUR 60.7 per cubic meter, marking a four percent increase from May and an impressive 19 percent surge from the previous year's average.<\/p>\n Pulpwood prices experienced substantial growth, with average standing sale prices rising by 1 to 3 percent compared to the previous month and a remarkable 31 to 41 percent jump from the previous year. Birch pulpwood saw the most significant increase, with average prices reaching EUR 29.1 per cubic meter. Spruce pulpwood averaged EUR 30.2 per cubic meter, and pine pulpwood reached EUR 27.6 per cubic meter.<\/p>\n These standing sale prices for pulpwood reached record highs, with real prices for pine and birch pulpwood being the highest ever reported in the monthly statistics since 1995. The last time the average price for spruce pulpwood exceeded this level was in 2008.<\/p>\n In contrast, delivery sales saw a decline in pulpwood prices by 3 to 10 percent compared to May. However, despite the decrease, the average prices for the entire previous year were still surpassed by a significant margin of 11 to 17 percent.<\/p>\n The timber trade in Finland showed remarkable growth in the first half of the year, with a 35 percent increase compared to the same period last year and a 16 percent rise compared to the average of the previous five years.
