<\/span>Wood prices in Germany fall drastically.\u00a0Sales falter.\u00a0The market is out of joint.\u00a0Many sawmills only pay mixed prices for spruce\u00a0Others only pay the beetle wood price.\u00a0Pine wood is hardly for sale anymore.<\/p>\n

German forest owners and the sawmill industry are currently reporting\u00a0massive sales difficulties for sawn timber\u00a0.\u00a0As a result, production volumes have already been significantly reduced.\u00a0Most forest owners' associations expect that the reductions in cuttings that have started in many regions will probably be significantly expanded in the third quarter.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The consequences of the\u00a0slump in sales for the log sales\u00a0of the forest owners and the\u00a0wood prices\u00a0are dramatic.\u00a0The sawmill industry reports\u00a0a lack of sales opportunities\u00a0in almost all product ranges.\u00a0The domestic market as well as the\u00a0markets in Europe and overseas are under pressure\u00a0.\u00a0This is due to the sharply shrinking demand for\u00a0sawn timber\u00a0due to the massive problems in the construction industry.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0critical sales situation is having a massive impact\u00a0on wood prices.\u00a0A whole range of sawmills now only offer a beetle\/D\/BC mixed price or the\u00a0spruce\u00a0and beetle wood price.\u00a0For this reason, the quantities of fresh wood are significantly reduced by the whale owners or the felling of fresh wood is often stopped altogether.<\/p>\n

Numerous sawmills are trying to prevent a\u00a0further deterioration in the sales situation\u00a0by significantly reducing the quantities purchased and sold .\u00a0The holiday and maintenance shutdowns that are common in the summer months are therefore often extended.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The\u00a0price situation on the sawn timber market\u00a0is very confusing and differs greatly from region to region.\u00a0Existing contracts are occasionally terminated by the buyer.\u00a0New contracts are rare and are only\u00a0concluded\u00a0\u00a0at greatly reduced prices for short periods of time .<\/div>\n

Only occasionally do forest owners report prices of 87 to 92 euros per cubic meter (m3) for spruce in BC quality from a mean diameter of 20 cm and beetle wood prices for 2b+ from 62 to 64 euros\/m3 net.\u00a0A whole range of sawmills\u00a0only offer mixed prices of 74 to 79 euros\/m3 for spruce wood in BC quality\u00a0and only 53 to 56 euros\/m3 for beetle wood.<\/p>\n

In the wake of the spruce, sales of\u00a0pine\u00a0have almost come to a standstill.\u00a0For pine wood BC quality, the price reports are often only between 50 and 54 EUR\/m3 and for D qualities at 49 to 53 EUR\/m3.\u00a0Demand\u00a0for softwood industrial roundwood\u00a0is also low.\u00a0Here, too, prices are falling.\u00a0The takeover is often subject to strict quotas, forest owners report.\u00a0The locations of the\u00a0paper, pulp and board industry\u00a0are very well stocked.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0demand for energy wood\u00a0is at a level that is usual for the time of year.\u00a0Prices also fall following industrial roundwood.\u00a0The\u00a0market assessments of the sawmill and timber industry\u00a0are assuming at best stagnating for the next few weeks and months, but rather a further decline in sales opportunities.\u00a0The reason: the\u00a0construction industry is likely to continue to cool down\u00a0.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
