After last year's absolute price records, the market in Estonia has clearly come down in most wood assortments.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The one and only exception is the price of birch logs and logs, which continue to remain at their absolute peak.\u00a0The price level of softwood logs and aspen and alder logs is stabilizing, while the prices of pulpwood and firewood are falling.<\/span><\/p>\n After the price drop at the end of the year, softwood log prices in Estonia have increased moderately in the first quarter of the year.\u00a0<\/span>Pine logs rose in price by 4.8% as compared to the fourth quarter of 2022, pine fine logs by 2.9%, spruce logs by 4.5%, spruce fine logs by 11.4%.<\/p>\n As compared to the prices of a year ago, the prices have fallen quite strongly.\u00a0Pine logs have become cheaper by 22% or \u20ac30.9\/m3) and pine fine logs by 16.7% or \u20ac19.9\/m3.\u00a0The price decrease of spruce logs and spruce fine logs has been slightly smaller, respectively 11.2% (13.2 \u20ac\/m3) and 7.3% (8.1 \u20ac\/m3).<\/span><\/p>\n Of the softwood logs sold from the state forest, the vast majority of assortments fell in price, with pine fine logs and normal logs falling significantly (23% and 22.4%).\u00a0At the same time, the spruce fine logs decreased by 8.2% and the spruce logs by 2.1%. Of the hardwood logs sold from private forests, the price of birch wood has risen in the first quarter of the year, while the prices of aspen and alder logs have fallen.
