Despite a more challenging market situation for sawn timber products, their sawmill operation is strong thanks to efficient and well-invested sawmills and global sales channels, Sweden's Vida Skog believes.<\/span><\/p>\n Vida's need for timber is still large. The price trend for forest raw materials has been positive for a long period and Vida is now strengthening its offer by raising its price lists.<\/p>\n Vida's timber price lists for normal timber, spruce and pine will be increased by SEK 140\/m3fub (EUR 12\/m3) and the price lists for logs and rough timber by SEK 70\/m3fub (EUR 6\/m3)starting\u00a0 from 1 June.<\/p>\n ''Right now timber prices are at a very high level. How the wood product market will look in the future is difficult to assess and depends on a variety of factors, such as the general economic situation and the global security situation. The sharp rise in interest rates has a negative impact on construction, and it is currently estimated that housing construction in Sweden will fall by around 50% this year compared to 2022.
