S\u00f6dra is now carrying out price increases on several timber ranges. For example, the price of spruce timber and softwood will be increased by ten and fifteen percent, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n There is still a good demand for the raw material from the family forestry, and S\u00f6dra's need for wood is estimated to be large during the summer and autumn. Therefore, S\u00f6dra implements a broad timber price increase from 29 May. The price increases apply to several timber ranges and mean that members will get paid more for the timber they sell to S\u00f6dra, which strengthens the forest farm's profitability.<\/p>\n For example, the price of spruce timber including market premium is increased by a total of SEK 80 per solid cubic meter (EUR 7\/m3), which means an increase of ten percent compared to the previous base price. The corresponding increase for softwood is 15 percent.<\/p>\n Large increases are also made within the energy range. 2022's large demand for energy products is expected to continue in 2023 as well, and S\u00f6dra is therefore raising the basic price for fuel wood and root (branches and tops) by nearly 50 percent.<\/p>\n Historically high timber prices in G\u00f6taland<\/strong><\/p>\n ''These are unusually large price increases, which reflect the future of the market and the long-term demand for family forestry's products. The price increases mean that we now have historically high timber prices in G\u00f6taland,'' says Peter Karlsson, business area manager for S\u00f6dra Skog, in a press release.<\/p>\n At the same time, there is an unusually high level of uncertainty in the global timber market. The global turbulence means that the situation can turn around quickly, which S\u00f6dra takes advantage of in its price increases.<\/p>\n ''We assess that the high demand will continue during the summer and it is important to meet it with high deliveries of raw materials. We also need to be flexible to be able to act more quickly in a time and market with sudden changes, which is the reason why some of the price increases are time-limited,'' says Peter.<\/p>\n The following price adjustments apply from May 29, 2023:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Pine and spruce timber will be increased by SEK 50\/m\u00b3fub in the basic price and a market premium of SEK 30\/m\u00b3fub will be introduced (approximately 5.23 EUR and 2.82 EUR, respectively).<\/p>\n \u2022 The base price for rough timber and blocks of pine and spruce is increased by SEK 40\/m\u00b3fub and a market premium of SEK 30\/m\u00b3fub is introduced (approximately 3.76 EUR and 2.82 EUR, respectively).<\/p>\n \u2022 Pulpwood is increased by SEK 40\/m\u00b3fub in the base price and a market premium of SEK 30\/m\u00b3fub is introduced (approximately 3.76 EUR and 2.82 EUR, respectively).<\/p>\n \u2022 Firewood will be increased by SEK 140\/m\u00b3fub in the basic price (approximately 13.16 EUR).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" S\u00f6dra is now carrying out price increases on several timber ranges.
