{"id":85506,"date":"2023-05-24T08:00:22","date_gmt":"2023-05-24T08:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tin.happy-projects.ro\/pellet-prices-bottom-out-in-germany\/"},"modified":"2025-09-19T09:00:06","modified_gmt":"2025-09-19T09:00:06","slug":"pellet-prices-bottom-out-in-germany","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.timberindustrynews.com\/ro\/pellet-prices-bottom-out-in-germany\/","title":{"rendered":"Pellet prices bottom out in Germany"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img width=\"507\" height=\"341\" src=\"https:\/\/timberindustrynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/wood-pellets-11-1-46.jpg\" class=\"webfeedsFeaturedVisual wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"display: block; margin-bottom: 5px; clear:both;max-width: 100%;\" link_thumbnail=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/timberindustrynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/wood-pellets-11-1-46.jpg 507w, https:\/\/timberindustrynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/wood-pellets-11-1-46-300x202.jpg 300w, https:\/\/timberindustrynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/wood-pellets-11-1-46.jpg 84w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 507px) 100vw, 507px\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Pellet prices have more than halved since November.\u00a0Prices have not fallen further since mid-April.\u00a0In some federal states there were even slight price increases.\u00a0Wood pellets are currently cheapest in Thuringia and Hesse.\u00a0Customers have to pay the most for their pellets in Berlin and Brandenburg.\u00a0The price difference is almost 50 euros per ton.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper clearfix left\">\n<div class=\"textflow\">\n<p>In the last two\u00a0weeks of April, pellet prices did\u00a0not fall any further.\u00a0In some federal states (North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate),\u00a0wood pellets even cost 10 to 12 euros\u00a0more than in mid-April.\u00a0Apparently, the\u00a0pellet prices\u00a0have initially found a bottom.\u00a0How the prices will continue depends, among other things, on the further\u00a0development of wood prices\u00a0and other\u00a0energy prices\u00a0.<\/p>\n<p>According to the experts from Heizpellet24, wood pellets cost\u00a0329 euros per ton this week on average\u00a0across the federal government. That is 4 euros more than in mid-April \u2013 but less than before the Ukraine war, when pellet prices were around 350 euros.\u00a0The regional lowest price is 303 or 304 euros per tonne in Hesse and Thuringia.\u00a0In a longer-term comparison, these are the lowest pellet prices since December 2021.<\/p>\n<p>With the\u00a0recent fall in prices,\u00a0all expert expectations have also been exceeded.\u00a0In January, Martin Bentele from the German Energy Wood and Pellet Association (DEPV) told the Berliner Morgenpost: \"I assume that the price will level off between 400 and 500 euros per tonne in 2023.\" This forecast was already made in February clearly undercut.<\/p>\n<p>In normal years,\u00a0the pellet prices actually reach\u00a0their seasonal low in the summer months - i.e. from about July to the beginning of August.\u00a0This is when customers usually order the largest quantities.\u00a0At the moment it looks as if the pellet prices will level off at the level they have reached and thus not repeat\u00a0the seasonal pattern that was common before the energy crisis\u00a0.<\/p>\n<p>However, this is not certain, because the influence of external factors is great. In addition, the heating season ends in May and pellet customers can wait and see how prices will develop \u2013 without having to freeze.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper clearfix left\">\n<p class=\"paragraph_subline\"><strong>Regional pellet prices between 303 and 348 euros<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"textflow\">\n<p>An important reason for the falling pellet prices was the sharp\u00a0fall in prices for other energy sources\u00a0- i.e.\u00a0for heating oil\u00a0as well as for gas\u00a0and electricity (for new customers).\u00a0The prices for all three energy sources have fallen sharply in recent weeks and are well below the government price controls for new customers.\u00a0However, both electricity prices\u00a0and\u00a0gas prices\u00a0(for new customers) have\u00a0recently stabilized.\u00a0And heating oil prices\u00a0should not go down too far either.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0price differences between the regional pellet dealers\u00a0have become smaller with the falling prices, but are still surprisingly large.\u00a0Wood pellets\u00a0are cheapest at\u00a0the end of April in Hesse, Thuringia and, at some distance, in Bavaria and Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg \u2013 customers there pay between 303 and 318 euros per tonne.\u00a0Pellets cost the most in Berlin, Brandenburg and Saarland.\u00a0There, pellet buyers have to pay between 342 and 348 euros.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0aid for households\u00a0that heat with\u00a0heating oil and wood pellets\u00a0should be paid out from May.\u00a0According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the prerequisite is that the costs of households for pellets, oil, liquid gas, coal and similar have doubled compared to the reference prices of 2021.\u00a0The federal and state governments have set about 71 cents per liter for heating oil and 24 cents per kilogram for wood pellets.\u00a0The direct subsidy is limited to a maximum of 2,000 euros per household.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pellet prices have more than halved since November.\u00a0Prices have not fallen further since mid-April.\u00a0In some federal states there were even slight price increases.\u00a0Wood pellets are currently cheapest in Thuringia and Hesse.\u00a0Customers have to pay the most for their pellets in &hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timberindustrynews.com\/ro\/pellet-prices-bottom-out-in-germany\/\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":83720,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[4716],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-85506","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-latest-trends"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.9 -
