During the first quarter of 2023, delivery timber prices for both sawlogs and pulpwood in Sweden increased in comparison with the fourth quarter of 2022. <\/span>The price of sawlogs increased by just under 1 percent and pulpwood by just under 4 percent.<\/p>\n Regionally, the price of sawlogs increased the most in Southern Norrland by just under 5 percent, followed by Northern Norrland by just over 3 percent. In G\u00f6taland, the sawlog price increased by just over 1 percent, while in Svealand it was basically unchanged, writes the Forestry Agency in a press release.<\/p>\n The biggest increase in the price of pulpwood can be found in S\u00f6dra Norrland and Svealand with 12 percent. Pulpwood prices in Norra Norrland increased by 7 percent. In G\u00f6taland, pulpwood prices increased by just under 1 percent.<\/p>\n Continued rise when compared with the first quarter of 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n Even when the comparison is made against the first quarter of 2022, increasing timber prices are visible. Overall, the sawlog price increased by just under 10 percent. Regionally, an increase of 13 percent can be seen in Norra Norrland and Svealand. Also in S\u00f6dra Norrland and G\u00f6taland, prices increased by 10 percent.<\/p>\n The pulpwood price increased as a whole by 43 percent when compared to the first quarter of 2022. The increase was greatest in Svealand with just under 68 percent, followed by S\u00f6dra Norrland and G\u00f6taland with just under 44 and just over 38 percent increases respectively.
