The situation looks \"less favorable\" for France's wood market this year, due to a more difficult economic environment, warned the French National Forestry Office (ONF).<\/span><\/p>\n \"The international context and the looming economic recession are raising fears of a more difficult 2023, with a decline in economic activity and prices, particularly for softwood,\" the public institution said in a note.<\/p>\n This year's situation is expected to contrast with that of last year, which was considered prosperous for the market thanks to an increase in demand and prices.<\/p>\n The economic climate appears less favorable this year, with fears of a recession in some countries and inflation weighing on purchasing power and increasing production costs.<\/p>\n \"The fear is that consumption will come to a halt.
