The Austrian timber manufacturer Pfeifer Group announced that it will buy sawmill company P\u00f6lky at the end of last year. The transaction was completed in January.<\/p>\n

That's why P\u00f6lkky fits perfectly into our strategy, which enables synergistic growth,\" Pfeifer Group Director Michael Pfeifer says in the press release.<\/p>\n
Pfeifer considers the quality and availability of wood raw material, synergy benefits and the calculable price of wood to be the most important reasons for the acquisition of the Finnish company.<\/p>\n
\"In Northern Finland, there is no need to worry about the availability of raw materials. In addition, the price of 80\u201385 euros per cubic meter is very predictable,\" says Pfeifer.<\/p>\n
According to Pfeifer, the wood industry in Central Europe has taken advantage of the growth of the northernmost region in the last 5-6 years. All purchases are aimed at securing raw materials.<\/p>\n
Michael Pfeifer says that the owner does not want to intervene in the operational matters of running P\u00f6lky, they want to keep the local team. However, the company's board of directors is to be supplemented with a Pfeiffer representative.<\/p>\n
P\u00f6lky's investment program, which was already started before the sale, will also be continued.
