UPM has completed withdrawal of its businesses from Russia by selling all its Russian operations, including the Chudovo plywood mill, to Gungnir Wooden Products Trading. The parties have agreed not to disclose the details of the transaction.<\/p>\n

Following Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine, UPM announced in March 2022 suspension of its business activities in Russia, including deliveries, wood procurement and the Chudovo plywood mill.<\/p>\n

In early March 2022, UPM announced the suspension of operations in Russia due to Russian invasion of Ukraine. The company stopped purchasing wood in the country and stopped the UPM Chudovo plywood mill operations. Preparations for the asset sale began in January 2023, when UPM changed the ownership structure in its Russian operations. Finnish Astronaut RUS Holdings became the sole owner of UPM Kymmene LLC and UPM-Kymmene Chudovo LLC.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
