{"id":84776,"date":"2023-04-04T09:14:29","date_gmt":"2023-04-04T09:14:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tin.happy-projects.ro\/ireland-timber-survey-shows-improved-prices-in-q1-2023\/"},"modified":"2025-09-18T17:25:50","modified_gmt":"2025-09-18T17:25:50","slug":"ireland-timber-survey-shows-improved-prices-in-q1-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.timberindustrynews.com\/ro\/ireland-timber-survey-shows-improved-prices-in-q1-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Ireland: Timber survey shows \u2018improved prices\u2019 in Q1 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img width=\"420\" height=\"250\" src=\"https:\/\/timberindustrynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/timber-prices-1.jpeg\" class=\"webfeedsFeaturedVisual wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"display: block; margin-bottom: 5px; clear:both;max-width: 100%;\" link_thumbnail=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/timberindustrynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/timber-prices-1.jpeg 420w, https:\/\/timberindustrynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/timber-prices-1-300x179.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A survey of timber prices, carried out by the Irish Farmers\u2019 Association (IFA), shows \u201ca recovery in timber prices\u201d for the first quarter (Q1) of this year.<\/p>\n<p>Jason Fleming, the IFA\u2019s Farm Forestry chairperson, said that the the Farm Forestry Timber Market report for January to March shows higher prices across product types since the end of 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTimber prices, which were in decline from July onwards last year, have started to show signs of improvement,\u201d he commented.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe increase in prices reported this year reflects the increase in market demand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the IFA, the demand for timber is likely to remain consistent, due to expected continued demand for construction.<\/p>\n<p>The prices quoted in the IFA Farm Forestry Timber Market Report were sourced from forest owners, forestry companies and sawmills.<\/p>\n<p>The report, which focusses on Sitka spruce timber, shows the following \u2018roadside prices\u2019 quoted in the first three months of 2023:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pulpwood prices ranged from \u20ac32-40\/t;<\/li>\n<li>Stakewood prices ranged from \u20ac38-48\/t;<\/li>\n<li>Palletwood prices ranged from \u20ac42-74\/t, depending on the length produced;<\/li>\n<li>Sawlog prices ranged from \u20ac85-105\/t.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fleming said: \u201cThe improvement in timber prices for 2023 will be welcomed by farmers with forestry after the uncertainty of market conditions last year.\u201d<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A survey of timber prices, carried out by the Irish Farmers\u2019 Association (IFA), shows \u201ca recovery in timber prices\u201d for the first quarter (Q1) of this year.
