In January-February 2023, the export of sawn timber from Russia to China increased by 7.2% to 1.6 million m\u00b3. For Hong Kong, the figure was 67 thousand m\u00b3. Deliveries to Iran and the UAE increased by 1.5 times and amounted to 64.1 thousand m\u00b3 and 38.1 thousand m\u00b3, respectively. Export to Turkey increased to 39.8 thousand m\u00b3 or 3.5 times. A noticeable increase was also shown by deliveries to Kyrgyzstan - 36.3 thousand m\u00b3 or + 10.8%. Exports to Iraq added 6.3% and totaled 25.4 thousand m\u00b3.<\/p>\n
In total, in the first two months of 2023, sawn timber supplies to international markets amounted to 2.6 million cubic meters, i.e. decreased year on year by 25%.<\/p>\n
According to the head of Roslesinforg Pavel Chashchin, the bulk of sawn timber exports - 96.7% - fell on 15 countries.\u00a0Traditionally, China has become the leader among importers of Russian timber, having taken a 63% share in the supply of sawn timber in January-February.<\/p>\n
The volume of exports of sawn timber to Kazakhstan (-19.5% to 61.4 thousand m\u00b3), \u200b\u200bSingapore (-35.3% to 49.3 thousand m\u00b3), \u200b\u200bJapan (-44.5% to 46.6 thousand m\u00b3) decreased. m\u00b3), Azerbaijan (-53.9% to 42.1 thousand m\u00b3), \u200b\u200bSouth Korea (-4.8% to 39.1 thousand m\u00b3) and Jordan (-23.8% to 32.3 thousand m\u00b3 ).<\/p>\n
