International Timber officially became part of European building materials giant STARK Group A\/S on March 1.<\/p>\n
The acquisition, first announced on the December 12, means Manchester-based International Timber has now joined one of the fastest growing merchants and distribution groups in Europe.<\/p>\n
The International Timber brand name will continue and the business becomes part of the UK subsidiary of STARK Group, STARK Building Materials UK.<\/p>\n
\u201cCustomers won\u2019t notice any immediate change, as it\u2019s very much business as usual and we will continue to trade as normal for customers,\u201d said Paul Martin, MD of International Timber.<\/p>\n
\u201cOver time we will be working closely with STARK, sharing and building on our great plans for our customers. We have a lot of opportunities now to share best practice with STARK and learn from their business and operations elsewhere in Europe.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cEntering the UK market is a great opportunity for our combined business to share best practice across the Nordics, Germany, Austria and the UK making life even easier for tradespeople,\u201d added STARK Group CEO Soren P. Olesen.<\/p>\n
