Furniture industry<\/strong><\/p>\n The largest segment within the wood industry is the furniture industry, whose sales increased by 6.9% to \u20ac18.8 billion in 2022 compared to the previous year.\u00a0According to information from the industry, price adjustments that became necessary due to increased material and energy costs were decisive here.\u00a0Higher electricity and gas prices as a result of the war in Ukraine also had an impact on procurement and production costs in other sectors.<\/p>\n Sawmills<\/strong><\/p>\n After the furniture industry, sawmills contribute the second largest revenue item in the German timber industry. Sales of sawmill products increased by 18.1% to \u20ac8.8 billion in 2022 compared to the previous year.
