The biggest price drop has occurred in pine logs, pulpwood and firewood. But despite this, the prices of all assortments are high and good from the point of view of the forest owner.<\/p>\n<p>According to the price statistics of the Estonian Private Forest Center, the price of softwood logs continued to fall in the fourth quarter of 2022. The price of pine logs has fell the most as compared to quarter 3, standard log by 18.3% and fine log by 12%. The price drop of spruce logs was modest, the standard log became cheaper by 0.7% and the fine log by 1.5%. Such a large difference in the price drop was due to the fact that the price of spruce logs remained significantly lower compared to the price of pine logs during the peak price period in the first half of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Compared to prices of the fourth quarter in 2021, the only thing that has become cheaper are pine logs (6.9% or 7.7 \u20ac\/m3). Pine fine logs have become more expensive over the year by 3.4% (\u20ac3.2\/m3), spruce logs by 2% (\u20ac2\/m3). Based on the price statistics of the Estonian Private Forestry Center, in December, a dense meter of pine logs cost 104.95 euros, 96.69 euros for fine pine logs, 99.47 euros for spruce logs, and 91.98 euros for fine spruce logs.<\/p>\n<p>The price dynamics of all hardwood assortments sold from private forests was divided into two. Birch varieties became more expensive, aspen and alder logs became cheaper.<\/p>\n<p>The pulpwood market is in the expected decline after a wild price increase. The price of all varieties dropped considerably compared to the third quarter. Pine pulpwood became cheaper by 9.5%, spruce pulpwood by 11.2%, birch pulpwood by 13.2%, aspen wood by 18.7%.<\/p>\n<p>Compared to the fourth quarter of 2021, the price increase has still been incredibly high. Thus, pine pulpwood has become more expensive over the year by 104.4% (\u20ac40.3\/m3), spruce wood by 102.1% (\u20ac39.45\/m3), birch wood by 92.7% (\u20ac51.9\/m3) and aspen wood by as much as 107, 8% (\u20ac38.9\/m3). As of the end of the fourth quarter of 2022, based on the price statistics of the Private Forest Center, the average price for pine pulpwood was \u20ac78.92\/m3, spruce pulpwood \u20ac78.08\/m3, birch
