The trend towards normalization in the price of wood pellets continued in January.\u00a0As reported by the German Pellet Institute (DEPI), one ton (t) of pellets costs \u20ac499.14 on average across Germany.\u00a0That is 7.1% less than in the previous month and 36.2% more than in January 2022. For the first time since June 2022, pellets are available for less than 10 ct\/kWh.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"At the moment, the demand for pellets is manageable, which continues to lead to falling prices,\" explains DEPI Managing Director Martin Bentele.\u00a0The customer warehouses are still well stocked, which is due on the one hand to the pronounced storage behavior in summer due to the energy crisis caused by the war, but also increasingly to the high average temperatures this winter.\u00a0The responsible federal states are currently preparing application formalities for the payment of the planned energy price brake for fuels that are independent of the supply such as pellets.\u00a0Even if the framework conditions such as a maximum subsidy of \u20ac2,000 have been set, the exact design and processing for pellet customers is still unclear.<\/span><\/p>\n

The regional differences in the price of pellets in January 2023 are as follows (sales of 6 t): In southern Germany, wood pellets are the cheapest at \u20ac488.16\/t.\u00a0In the central region, the pellet price is \u20ac496.61\/t, in north\/east Germany \u20ac535.96\/t.<\/span><\/p>\n

Larger quantities (26 t) will be traded in January 2023 at the following conditions: South: 473.03 \u20ac\/t, Central: 477.41 \u20ac\/t, North\/East: 518.45 \u20ac\/t.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
