Around 50 employees will be affected by the closure of the production line.<\/p>\n
Demanding market<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n CEO Frode Henning Killi at Moelven Byggmodul\u00a0says that the reason for the layoffs is the demanding market, where increased costs at all levels have caused a strong brake in the housing segment.<\/p>\n ''Based on the market situation, and with the potential we have on our two existing production lines at Moelven Byggmodul's factories, we should still be able to handle our customers' needs,'' says Killi.<\/p>\n As GWMI previously reported, Moelven delivered a good result for the last reported financial quarter, but warns that the time ahead will be challenging. The consumer market in Scandinavia is characterized by weak demand for wood products, and the international market is more in a wait-and-see mood.<\/p>\n ''The contrasts with the last year are great, the market has changed, demand is lower, inventory levels are increasing and we are seeing cost increases for many things, including electricity.
