In the third quarter of 2022, Finnish exports of raw and planed sawn softwood to other European countries decreased by 26%.\u00a0In July-September, the figure amounted to just over 764.9 thousand m\u00b3.<\/p>\n
In the first and second quarters, the decline in supplies amounted to 4%.<\/p>\n
According to export trade statistics released by the Finnish customs authority, exports to the UK and France halved year on year to 147.2 thousand m\u00b3 and 65.7 thousand m\u00b3 respectively.\u00a0Exports to Germany decreased by 26% to 102.1 thousand m\u00b3.<\/p>\n
The decrease in exports to European countries was offset by an increase in deliveries to countries outside Europe by 39% to 1.157 million m\u00b3.\u00a0The share of deliveries to non-European countries increased by 15% and amounted to 60% of all exports.<\/p>\n
The increase was recorded in deliveries to the countries of North Africa (+49% to 474.4 thousand m\u00b3), \u200b\u200bthe Near and Middle East (+8% to 189.1 thousand m\u00b3) and East Asia (+43% to 468.6 thousand . m\u00b3).\u00a0Exports to Egypt and China grew the fastest by 81% to 367 thousand m\u00b3 and by 189% to 267 thousand m\u00b3 respectively.<\/p>\n
A decrease in deliveries was recorded to Japan, exports decreased by 21% to 155 thousand m\u00b3.\u00a0Deliveries to the US amounted to 12.5 thousand m\u00b3, which is only about 60% of the previous year's volume.<\/p>\n
The accumulated export volume for the first nine months of 2022, worth EUR 2.061 billion, decreased by 3% in volume to 6.301 million m\u00b3.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
