Softwood sawlogs<\/strong><\/p>\n The Austrian sawmill industry is largely sufficiently stocked with softwood sawlogs despite reduced production. Even if external storage facilities are currently being set up in the damaged areas in southern Austria for the next few months, the sawmills are expanding their purchasing again.<\/p>\n Across Austria, the focus is still on the processing of bark beetle wood and maintenance interventions. The removal takes place quickly, provided that freight capacities and weather permit. Forest camps are scarce. Prices are stable and average across Austria and spruce logs A\/C, 2b are sold at around \u20ac105 per cubic meter. The price of pine is also stable, larch maintains its high price level and demand can hardly be met.<\/p>\n Individual customers have announced production cutbacks over the Christmas holidays, whereby the delivery of roundwood will be possible in some cases.<\/p>\n There is still very lively demand for oak, although price increases can hardly be enforced due to the high level. At the end of January, the action days for hardwood value wood submissions in Lower and Upper Austria will take place again.<\/p>\n Pulpwood<\/strong><\/p>\n The locations of the paper, pulp and board industry are still receptive to all types of softwood logs. However, sharply increased import volumes and a calming down of the pellets market lead to a slackening of the demand for softwood pulpwood. The prices are stable at a consistently high level, removal and takeover are quick. Red beech pulpwood is in high demand at stable prices.<\/p>\n Energy wood<\/strong><\/p>\n The energy wood market remains interesting, although the situation with quality firewood ready for stoves and also pellets has largely returned to normal. The suspicion that the overheating of the last few months was also caused by advance purchases is confirmed. The prices remain at an attractive level.
