After stopping the construction of a new plant in Vitebsk, one of the largest wood and furniture production groups in the Baltics, the VMG Group suspended all its business in Belarus.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\"Yes, we have stopped all our business in Belarus: the Mogilev plant has been shut down earlier, workers have been sent to downtime, and we have decided to suspend further construction in Vitebsk,\" said Egidijus Mockus, CEO of VMG Group.<\/p>\n

He did not want to reveal what is planned to be done with the group's assets in Belarus: \"We are still in deliberations.\"<\/p>\n

In early March, VMG announced the closure of a 2,000-employee furniture company in the Mogilev region of Belarus, where it operated the VMG Industry chipboard, furniture and glued wood parts plant in its free economic zone, while VMG's solid wood furniture factory was being built in Vitebsk WoodArt.<\/p>\n

VMG Group is one of the largest wood processing and furniture production groups in the Baltic States, uniting 16 Lithuanian and foreign companies with more than 4,000 employees. Over 90% of VMG Group's products are exported. The group 's annual sales reach around EUR400 million.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
