According to the price survey by the German Pellet Institute (DEPI), a very high international demand combined with sharply increased production and logistics costs results in a nationwide average price of \u20ac393.25\/t. The development shows an increase of 4.3% compared to the previous month and of 81.2% compared to May 2021.<\/p>\n
Normally, the price of wood pellets reaches its low for the year in May and then slowly rises again. Nevertheless, pellets are still significantly cheaper than fossil fuels. The price advantage over gas and oil is almost 40%. A kilo of pellets costs 39.33 cents, which corresponds to 7.87 cents\/kWh.<\/p>\n
