Customs officers in the Russian Nakhodka prevented two cases of now illegal export of Russian timber under previously signed contracts with US and German companies, the Russian Far Eastern Customs Department said Monday.<\/p>\n
\"Nakhodka\u00a0customs officers stopped the export of three containers with 117 cubic meters of birch and larch veneer. The timber was attempted to be exported through the port of Vostochny by a group of\u00a0Russian\u00a0businessmen under previously concluded contracts with companies\u00a0from\u00a0the\u00a0United States\u00a0and\u00a0Germany,\" the department said.<\/p>\n
The cargo will be returned to the sender. According to the Decision of the\u00a0Government\u00a0of the\u00a0Russian\u00a0Federation No. 313 of\u00a0March\u00a09, 2022, the timber is included in the list of goods prohibited for export\u00a0from\u00a0Russia\u00a0to certain foreign countries and territories. The export ban is effective through\u00a0December\u00a031, 2022.<\/p>\n
