Faced with a blockade of cargo transportation to foreign countries, the Russian domestic timber industry is reorienting logistics.<\/p>\n

This was reported by the Russian publication \"Kommersant\".\u00a0Journalists note that China has become \u201cvirtually the only available market\u201d, however, deliveries in this direction are also complicated by the lack of transport infrastructure and own ships.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum, the head of the Segezha Group, Mikhail Shamolin, said that Russian timber merchants were faced with blocking supplies around the world.\u00a0Currently, only the Chinese operator Cosco is available for them, which naturally created a huge queue.<\/p>\n

Assessing the current situation, Kommersant notes that the share of exports to Asian countries will grow, but manufacturers will need both time and money to reorient supplies.\u00a0In addition, the reduction of the sales market and its monopolization will affect the prices for timber products and call into question the implementation of large-scale investment projects in Siberia.<\/p>\n

According to Mikhail Shamolin, the creation of infrastructure in Siberia, investments in increasing the container fleet, expanding crossings on the border with China, and developing roads and ports in the Far East can help solve new problems.
