Canfor Corporation announced that it has finalized and completed the purchase of Millar Western Forest Product Ltd.\u2019s solid wood operations, which was originally announced on December 16, 2021.<\/p>\n
In a statement prepared for the announcement Don Kayne, President and CEO, Canfor said, \u201cWe are very excited to welcome the employees at the Whitecourt, Fox Creek, and Spruceland facilities to the Canfor team. The additional manufacturing capacity in Alberta positions Canfor well to meet the growing demand of our customers for high-quality, sustainable wood products.\u201d<\/p>\n
Millar Western\u2019s solid wood operations, located in Alberta, Canada, will add 630 million board feet of production capacity and have access to a globally competitive, high-quality timber supply. The assets consist of three well-capitalized operations including two sawmill complexes in Whitecourt and Fox Creek and the high-value, specialty Spruceland Millworks facility in Acheson that is dedicated to serving strategic markets and generates higher, more stable returns.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
