In the 2021 fiscal year, the Homag Group achieved by far the highest order intake in the company's history. Sales and earnings also increased significantly compared to the previous year. In addition to the high demand from the furniture industry, the growing business with production systems for the construction of sustainable wooden houses also contributed to the success.<\/p>\n

According to preliminary figures, the order intake of the Homag Group increased by almost 60 percent to EUR 1,742 million in the 2021 financial year compared to the previous year (EUR 1,093 million), which was heavily influenced by the corona pandemic. \"The fact that we exceeded our previous record for incoming orders from 2017 by around 28 percent illustrates the extraordinarily high demand last year,\" emphasizes CEO Dr. Daniel Smith. \"This success is all the more important because the general conditions were not easy due to the restrictions imposed by the corona pandemic. This shows the great commitment of our employees worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sales improved by 25 percent to EUR 1,389 million (previous year: EUR 1,112 million) and also reached a record level despite the difficult supply of materials. The high demand also led to a significant increase in the order backlog, which stood at EUR 1,002 million as of December 31, 2021 (December 31, 2020: EUR 581 million). The Homag Group more than tripled its operating EBIT to EUR 92.1 million (previous year: EUR 27.0 million). As of December 31, 2021, the company employed 7,477 people (12\/31\/2020: 6,942). Around 110 new employees were added as a result of the acquisition.<\/p>\n

\"We developed very well in all regions worldwide in 2021 and benefited from the high investments in the furniture industry,\" explains Dr. Daniel Smith. \u201cThe European market with particularly high growth rates deserves special mention.\u201d A very strong service business with a significant increase in sales also had a positive effect.<\/p>\n

With the acquisitions of the Danish companies System TM in 2020 and Kallesoe last year, the Homag Group has significantly expanded its timber construction activities. Together with the Weinmann subsidiary, which is active in wooden house construction, the Homag Group can offer several technologies from a single source as a system supplier. \"This segment has already made an important contribution to the successful 2021 financial year,\" said the CEO. \"Climate-friendly construction with wood is currently experiencing a boom and we are very well positioned in this growth market.\"<\/p>\n
