A survey of member companies of the German\u00a0Timber Trade Federation (GD Holz) paints a rather positive picture of market expectations for 2022.<\/p>\n
Most of the participants in the survey see sales at the high level of the past year and also growth potential in the important product ranges of construction timber, other sawn timber, wood-based materials and garden wood.<\/p>\n
At the same time, about half of the participants expect price increases in these ranges.\u00a0The majority of the stocks should remain at the same level, a small part is planning a stock reduction.<\/p>\n
Timber trade sees great challenges in the logistics sector<\/strong><\/p>\n The issue of logistics - truck drivers, procurement of vehicle fleet - remains a major challenge for all companies and can therefore also become a limiting factor for deliveries and sales.<\/p>\n The foreign timber trade is therefore concerned about the international supply chains or the comparatively very high container prices - a situation that will continue in the coming months, according to most experts.<\/p>\n The raw wood trade expects a lively market, which is, however, also characterized by considerable price increases and uncertainties, as the current development in the industrial wood ranges, residual wood, wood chips and pellets shows.<\/p>\n The wood retail trade is expecting rather restrained sales, but depending on how the gardening season develops in spring - 2020 was very good for the wood retail trade, 2021 rather weaker, sales have developed significantly below those of the wood wholesale trade.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" A survey of member companies of the German\u00a0Timber Trade Federation (GD Holz) paints a rather positive picture of market expectations for 2022.
