The sawmill company Junnikkala is building a new sawmill in the Laanila industrial area in Oulu.\u00a0The new sawmill is scheduled for completion by the end of 2023, with an investment value of approximately EUR 75 million.<\/p>\n
The new sawmill will need about 800,000 cubic meters of spruce and pine logs each year.\u00a0The total annual need for wood in Junnikkala rises to 1.5 million cubic meters.\u00a0Subsidy procurement is increasing significantly in Northern Ostrobothnia, Southern Lapland and North Ouluj\u00e4rvi in \u200b\u200bKainuu.<\/p>\n
After the investment, Junnikkala's total production will increase to almost 800,000 cubic meters of finished sawn timber annually.\u00a0Net sales are estimated to rise to approximately EUR 300 million annually.<\/p>\n
About 2\/3 of the sawmill's turnover is recognized as income in the form of wood payments to forest owners in the area, Junnikkala reports.<\/p>\n
