US imports of lumber from Europe in the first nine months of the year have increased by 36% in volume, but more than doubled in value due to high export prices.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

In January-September 2021, US' main source for European softwood lumber was\u00a0Germania<\/strong>\u00a0with 1,53 million m3 and a share of 52 percent of the overall American imports from Europe.\u00a0Sweden<\/strong>\u00a0came second with 511 thousand m3 and a 2% decrease yoy. Significant growth rates were registered in U.S. imports from\u00a0Romania\u00a0<\/strong>(+85%).<\/p>\n

The average export price almost doubled from EUR 243\/m\u00b3 in January-September 2020 up to EUR 392\/m3 in January-September 2021.<\/p>\n
