Binderholz Nordic is investing more than EUR 40 million in increasing the processing capacity of the Lieksa sawmill.<\/em><\/p>\n

The company says it will invest in a new planing plant, a thermal wood plant and an increase in sawn timber drying capacity over the next two years.<\/p>\n

Binderholz's total investment in the development of the operations of Lieksa and Nurmes will increase to EUR 90 million with the new further processing plants, the company says.<\/p>\n

The new investments will increase the processing capacity of the Lieksa sawmill's planed products and glulam beam to 360,000 thousand cubic meters. At present, the company further processes 150,000 cubic meters of timber per year. More than 90 percent of total production is exported.<\/p>\n

The investment program is also expected to significantly increase the number of sawmills and the company's turnover.<\/p>\n

After the start of new production, Binderholz will employ 35 new employees in Lieksa and Nurmes. The labor impact during construction is several dozen person-years over the next two years.<\/p>\n
