{"id":81310,"date":"2021-10-12T06:58:31","date_gmt":"2021-10-12T06:58:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tin.happy-projects.ro\/wood-prices-germany-stabilizing\/"},"modified":"2025-09-19T08:56:14","modified_gmt":"2025-09-19T08:56:14","slug":"wood-prices-germany-stabilizing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.timberindustrynews.com\/ro\/wood-prices-germany-stabilizing\/","title":{"rendered":"Wood prices in Germany are stabilizing"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"article-content\">\n<p class=\"css-13wylk3\">The Bavarian State Forests are now reporting that the wood price has stabilized for the first time in more than a year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-13wylk3\">The supply crisis in spring and summer 2021 with too little wood, especially for the local processing industry, is over, according to a press release from the Bavarian State Forests.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-13wylk3\">\"The situation on the timber market has eased.\"\u00a0\u00a0The deputy head of the Bavarian Wasserburg forestry company, Sebastian Klinghardt, explains that, from the point of view of the German foresters, the price has now leveled off at a justified level.\u00a0He calculates that the cost of production in the\u00a0forest\u00a0and the cost of living have increased.\u00a0But the price of wood has stagnated over the past 30 years.\u00a0Only now, according to Klinghardt, can one speak of a reasonable price for wood.\u00a0\"A product that has grown for 80 years and thus has been produced for almost a century needs a decent price.\"<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-13wylk3\">According to the Bavarian State Forests, the current price for solid cubic meters of spruce logs is now between 120 and 140 euros.\u00a0A year ago, 80 to 90 euros were paid for the same product.\u00a0The high demand in the USA, which was partly due to the loss of timber harvest in Canada, had led to delays in delivery of lumber, some of which were considerable beyond the borders of Bavaria, and the construction costs for quite a few projects went up.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-13wylk3\"><strong>The lack of lumber on German construction sites is easing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The supply situation on the German construction sites improved in September.\u00a0In building construction, 36.3% of companies reported a material shortage, after 42.2% in the previous month.\u00a0In civil engineering it was 27.6%.\u00a0That is 3.8 percentage points less than in August.<\/p>\n<p>\"Housing construction is the most affected, with 40.0% of companies still reporting that their construction activity is hindered by delivery problems,\" says Ifo researcher Felix Leiss.<\/p>\n<p>The long delivery times and the sharp rise in material prices are central issues in the construction industry.\u00a0In particular, there is a lack of insulation, steel, wood and plastic pipes.\u00a0At least the wholesalers for wood products are now counting on falling prices again.\u00a0For many other building materials, however, further price increases are expected.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"section-title\"><\/h2>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Bavarian State Forests are now reporting that the wood price has stabilized for the first time in more than a year.
