In the second quarter of 2021, exports of softwood lumber from Russia to European countries grew at a faster pace compared to the same period last year.\u00a0According to customs data, deliveries to Estonia increased by 62% to 272.76 thousand m\u00b3.\u00a0Double-digit growth was also recorded in exports to Germany - 32% to 230.65 thousand m3, Finland - 12% to 181.34 thousand m3, United Kingdom - 64% to 149.35 thousand m3 and the Netherlands - 43% to 123 , 8 thousand m\u00b3.<\/em><\/p>\n

Softwood lumber exports to the eleven most important importing countries in Europe totaled 1.396 million m\u00b3, up 53% from the previous year.\u00a0Exports to the six Central Asian republics increased by one third to 1.457 million m\u00b3.\u00a0In contrast, shipments to China fell by 11% to 4.668 million m\u00b3.<\/p>\n

Between April and June, a total of 8.935 million m\u00b3 (8.281 million m\u00b3 a year earlier) of\u00a0Softwood lumber\u00a0was exported, valued at $ 1.643 billion.\u00a0While the volume of exports increased by 8%, the value of exports increased by 50%.\u00a0However, this increase could only partially offset the 13% decline recorded in the first quarter of 2021.<\/p>\n

As a result, the volume of exports for the first six months of this year amounted to 14.911 million m\u00b3, which is 2% less than in the previous year.\u00a0The export value rose 30% to $ 2.607 billion.\u00a0Of the total exports, 7.891 million m\u00b3 were sold to buyers in China, down 12%.<\/p>\n

Supplies to Japan also decreased by 19% to 415.62 thousand m\u00b3.\u00a0In terms of exports to the Central Asian republics, there was an increase of 3% to 2.368 million m\u00b3 (2.436 million m\u00b3 a year earlier).\u00a0Exports to the main European importing countries increased by 38%, amounting to 2.395 million m\u00b3.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
