At the end of August, the German Rettenmeier Group officially opened its new sawmill in Wilburgstetten.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

According to Rettenmeier, it is the most modern large sawmill in Europe. The new sawmill has a cutting capacity of 1.2 million cubic meters. According to Rettenmeier, the raw material is mainly obtained within a range of 200 km from the plant.<\/p>\n

Rettenmeier's CEO Dr. Stephan Lang commented on the increase in capacity: \"In times of climate change, we want to be ready to take in large quantities of roundwood at good prices and immediately if the situation worsens.\" You can now take larger diameters of up to 55 cm and lengths of 2.40 to 6.20 m. The plant will also process pine. The lumber is sorted into 108 boxes according to customer requirements.<\/p>\n

Present at the inauguration, Bavarian Agriculture Minister Michaela Kaniber\u00a0pointed out the importance of the investment: \u201cThis state-of-the-art, innovative saw line in Wilburgstetten is a strong signal for the climate-friendly use of the local ecological raw material wood.\u00a0Especially in times of climate change, in which we are struggling with high amounts of damaged wood, it is imperative to be able to process the resulting wood sensibly and over short distances.\u00a0So the added value stays in the region. \"<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
