Wood prices in Poland more than doubled in recent months. A cubic meter of pine logs now costs about PLN 700 (152.97\u00a0Euro\/m3), while at the beginning of the year it was PLN 300 (65.55\u00a0Euro\/m3) .<\/em><\/p>\n

The price of oak logs (medium-sized logs of the 2nd thickness class, quality class b) not so long ago was PLN 380\/m3 (83.03\u00a0Euro\/m3), now the price is PLN 750 (163.88\u00a0Euro\/m3).<\/p>\n

Poland's State Forests spokesman, Micha\u0142 Gzowski, said in an interview for the Polish media said that \"the adopted system of wood sales in the State Forests in 2021 guarantees a stable level of wood raw material prices\".<\/p>\n

''For a long time, the State Forests have pursued a very balanced policy regarding the setting of prices in line with the binding procedures for the sale of wood. This system includes elements of the protection of domestic capital within the limits allowed by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection,'' says Mr. Gzowski.''<\/p>\n

As he adds, about 80 percent of the wood available to entrepreneurs is sold via the Le\u015bno-Drzewny portal. The portal is available to regular buyers who previously cooperated with organizational units of the State Forests and provides a fixed price for the entire duration of the contract (calendar year),'' he says.<\/p>\n

Therefore - he emphasizes - the change in wood prices in the current year applies only to system auctions for the second half of 2021.<\/p>\n

''The State Forests have no influence on the price offers submitted by entrepreneurs participating in the procedures for purchasing raw wood, and in particular in auctions, where the bid with the highest price wins,'' says Gzowski.<\/p>\n

He also draws attention to the situation on world markets, where a similar upward trend is observed. The increase in wood raw material prices in the USA exceeded 300 percent compared to last year,'' he says.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
