{"id":80820,"date":"2021-06-07T10:11:10","date_gmt":"2021-06-07T10:11:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tin.happy-projects.ro\/european-softwood-lumber-us-34-q1-2021\/"},"modified":"2025-09-19T08:55:36","modified_gmt":"2025-09-19T08:55:36","slug":"european-softwood-lumber-us-34-q1-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.timberindustrynews.com\/ro\/european-softwood-lumber-us-34-q1-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"European softwood lumber to the US up by 34% in Q1\/2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"article-content\">\n<div id=\"titleDiv\">\n<p><em>A booming demand in the US doubled by insufficient wood availability on the North American continent to satisfy the high lumber needs has created opportunities for the European sawmills to expand exports overseas.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Accordingly, in\u00a0January-March 2021, European shipments to the US increased by\u00a034 % (up to 1.1 million cubic meters) as compared to the first two months of 2020.<\/p>\n<p>In Jan.-March 2021, US' main source for European softwood lumber was\u00a0Germany with 531 thousand m3 and a market share of 49 percent of the overall American imports from Europe.\u00a0Sweden came second with 188 thousand m3 and a -21% decrease yoy. Significant growth rates were registered in U.S. imports from\u00a0Finland\u00a0(+151%) and Romania.<\/p>\n<p>Judging by the statements of European suppliers, exports to the United States will remain at a high level for now.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<table id=\"top10_Table\" class=\"table\" border=\"1\" width=\"614\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td class=\"highlight\"><strong>Softwood lumber exported to USA from...
