Before the federal-state consultations on the corona pandemic on March 3, the The German association for the timber trade (Gesamtverband deutscher Holzhandel eV-GD Holz) urgently calls for an opening perspective for the timber retail trade.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Almost eleven weeks in lockdown go to the existence of the retail trade, the timber retail trade is currently recording massive order losses\", states Thomas Goebel, Managing Director of GD Holz eV.<\/p>\n

\"Politicians now have to deliver on 03.03.2021 and finally present their repeatedly announced opening concept, otherwise GD Holz eV will take legal action together with member companies.\"<\/p>\n

\"The situation in the timber retail trade is getting worse and worse,\" reports Goebel after talks with representatives of the timber retail trade. \"Specialist dealers complain about a drop in sales in January and February of up to 70%.\"<\/p>\n

The GD Holz therefore proposes concrete opening perspectives for the timber retail trade.\u00a0\"With its large sales areas and effective hygiene concepts, the timber retail trade can guarantee safe opening,\" states Goebel.\u00a0\u201cFollowing the example from Rhineland-Palatinate, for example, in the first opening step, specific and pre-booked consultation appointments with people in a household could be permitted.\u00a0The number of consultations permitted at the same time could be based on the spacing areas per customer prescribed in the respective state regulations. \"<\/p>\n
