Belarus' forestry industry plans to expand into Asian markets.<\/em><\/p>\n

During the ministerial meeting, Forestry Minister Vitaly Drozha urged Bellesexport state company to work more actively with foreign partners, in particular on the Asian markets.<\/p>\n

For example, China is one of the most important partners for forestry companies. Today the bulk of exports is bound for European countries. Meanwhile Belarus' export to the Chinese market recorded a notable growth. For example, in January-October of this year the export to China totaled $7.5 million, which was up 2.2 times year-on-year,\u201d the minister noted.<\/p>\n

Growth of supplies to China was facilitated by improved supply conditions. Rail service has been launched which has allowed halving the time of delivery. Now the industry is working to expand the range of exports to China. Another important issue is reaching out to end-users. As it was noted at the meeting, some successes have been achieved on this front but it is too early to talk about a complete solution to the problem.<\/p>\n

\"There are reports that Belarusian-made products are often sold in the UK in packages of Baltic companies. Thanks to high quality these products are in high demand. The question arises: why we do not work there ourselves thus missing on the opportunities to earn more money?\" the minister asked and demanded to intensify work in this direction.<\/p>\n
