{"id":80032,"date":"2020-11-11T09:35:57","date_gmt":"2020-11-11T09:35:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tin.happy-projects.ro\/canada-issue-plywood-dumping-order-china\/"},"modified":"2025-09-19T08:54:22","modified_gmt":"2025-09-19T08:54:22","slug":"canada-issue-plywood-dumping-order-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.timberindustrynews.com\/ro\/canada-issue-plywood-dumping-order-china\/","title":{"rendered":"Canada to issue plywood dumping order against China"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em>The Canadian Hardwood Plywood and Veneer Association (CHPVA) says it welcomes the Canada Border Services Agency\u2019s (CBSA) preliminary dumping and subsidy determination on decorative and other non-structural plywood imports to Canada from China.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The CBSA investigation was initiated in response to a complaint filed by the CHPVA and three of our member producers of decorative and other non-structural plywood, namely Columbia Forest Products, Husky Plywood (a division of Commonwealth Plywood), and Rockshield Engineered Wood Products.<\/p>\n<p>The CBSA determined combined margins of dumping and subsidy of up to 203% for the vast majority of Chinese exporters. There were, however, some individual exporters that received significantly lower margins. These provisional duties apply to decorative and other non-structural plywood imported into Canada as of Oct. 23, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>While the CHPVA is disappointed in the low margins for certain individual Chinese exporters, the CBSA is continuing its investigation and we are optimistic that the CBSA will find significant dumping and subsidy margins for these exporters after completing the full investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Duties may also apply retroactively if the Tribunal determines there was a massive importation of decorative and other non-structural plywood from China. Depending on the circumstances, duties could apply to certain decorative and other non-structural plywood imported into Canada as of July 25, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The CBSA will make a final dumping and subsidy determination by January 21, 2021 and the Canadian International Trade Tribunal will make a final injury determination by Feb. 19, 2021.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Canadian Hardwood Plywood and Veneer Association (CHPVA) says it welcomes the Canada Border Services Agency\u2019s (CBSA) preliminary dumping and subsidy determination on decorative and other non-structural plywood imports to Canada from China.
