The Czech Ministry of Agriculture collected the 2019 applications for damaged wood compensation for non-state forest owners by the end of September.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Those affected are entitled to a financial contribution rate of CZK 398\/m\u00b3 (around \u20ac 15 \/ m\u00b3).\u00a0A total of 10,749 applications were received for a grand total of CZK 5.333 billion (EUR 196 million), which represents an amount 1.33 billion higher (EUR 49 million) than was allocated for this support.\u00a0Received applications will be reduced by about 25%.<\/p>\n

The reception of applications for non-state forest owners ended on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. ''This amount corresponds to 13.4 million m3 of wood, \" Vojt\u011bch B\u00edl\u00fd, the press spokesman of the Ministry of Agriculture summed up the final volume of applications received. The Ministry of Agriculture allocated a total of CZK 4 billion to this financial contribution, which is CZK 1.2 billion more than.<\/p>\n

''All applications received from non-state forest owners will be reduced by the same percentage (by about 25%) to reach all applicants,\" he added. Payment of contributions to non-state forest owners will begin in the fourth quarter of 2020.<\/p>\n

This year, for the first time ever, the ministry made it possible to apply for this contribution to state-owned enterprises, state organizational units and state-subsidized organizations, with the exception of national parks.\u00a0These entities can apply for a contribution in the period from 24 August to 16 October 2020.<\/p>\n

In 2019, timber harvesting in the Czech Republic reached\u00a032.6 million m\u00a03 of\u00a0wood without bark, which represents an all-time record volume of timber harvested.<\/p>\n

Almost all logging of the total volume of 32.6 million m 3 was incidental logging (95.0%), which mainly represents bark beetle-infested trees and damaged timber.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
