{"id":79744,"date":"2020-09-11T08:17:58","date_gmt":"2020-09-11T08:17:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tin.happy-projects.ro\/austria-brisk-demand-spruce-logs-not-followed-rise-prices\/"},"modified":"2025-09-19T08:54:00","modified_gmt":"2025-09-19T08:54:00","slug":"austria-brisk-demand-spruce-logs-not-followed-rise-prices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.timberindustrynews.com\/ro\/austria-brisk-demand-spruce-logs-not-followed-rise-prices\/","title":{"rendered":"Austria: Brisk demand for spruce logs not followed by rise in prices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The Austrian economy is slowly recovering from the coronavirus-related lockdown, despite continuing risks due to increasing numbers of infections.\u00a0The demand for fresh spruce sawlogs was brisk in August and the forest stocks caused by damaged wood have largely been dismantled.\u00a0However, the spruce prices have not yet followed the increased demand.<\/em><span id=\"more-576377\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Austrian sawmill industry was stocked differently with spruce logs in August.\u00a0Accordingly, a slight recovery in demand is also noticeable.\u00a0The supply mostly works without any problems, and the quantities provided are removed accordingly quickly.\u00a0Most of the existing forest camps were dismantled, while damaged wood resulted from\u00a0the August thunderstorms are manageable and can be sold without any problems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bark beetle wood comes now<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, an increased accumulation of bark beetle wood is to be expected in the coming weeks.\u00a0The prices are still at an unattractive level and have only sporadically followed the increased demand.\u00a0In the damaged areas of Lower Austria, the main range spruce sawlogs quality A, B, C 2a+ cost now around 50 -
