The Russian sawn timber market has remained challenging for both traders and distributors in June, with wholesale prices still at low levels. New supply prices for spruce sawn timber from Russia decreased by $10\/m3, while the ones for Canadian furniture specifications remained unchanged.<\/em><\/p>\n

For comparison, new supply prices for spruce sawn timber of furniture specifications from Scandinavian producers remained relatively stable<\/span>\u00a0(price fluctuations were +\/- $5\/m3 depending on the plant). New supply prices for SPF sawn timber from North America also remained unchanged due to the decline in outputs and the rise in prices in the US market.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Prices for Russian sawn timber also followed the common downtrend in July. Thus, spruce sawn timber from the North-West of Russia cost $215\/m3 (spruce, rough, CFR Shanghai #1-4SF). Pine sawn timber from North-West was at $190-195\/m3. (#1-4).<\/p>\n

Prices for pine sawn timber from Siberia in July were at an average of $225-230\/m3 (almost unchanged, especially large producers managed to prevent cuts in prices. Traders expect a further decline in August: confidence in demand recovery is still weak.<\/p>\n

Worldwide sawn timber supplies to China in January-May 2020 decreased by 13.2% to 13.4 million m3. Supplies from Russia decreased by 12% to 7.56 million m3.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
