The Russian government expects to reduce the amount of wood waste by stimulating exports of wood\u00a0 pellets.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

On July 20, the Russian Federation Government Press Center quoted Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko as saying that the Russian government hopes to reduce the number of domestic wood waste dumps by stimulating the export of wood pellets.<\/p>\n

Abramchenko believes that the current production of wood pellets has huge development potential. The global annual demand for wood pellets is about 35 million tons, and will reach 100 million tons in 2030. Russia is one of the main exporters of such products.<\/p>\n

Related support measures have been implemented by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, including subsidies for the export and transportation of pellets. This will help increase the production of wood pellets and encourage companies to effectively use wood waste, thereby achieving the goal of significantly reducing the number of wood waste dumps. According to statistics, Russia produces more than 25 million cubic meters of wood waste every year.<\/p>\n

Abramchenko pointed out that such support measures will help the forestry sector to achieve waste-free production.\u00a0Relevant departments are discussing extensively on specific measures for industrial development and supporting enterprises, including project preferential loans, the use of industrial development funds to expand project-oriented funding and priority upgrades of processing equipment.<\/p>\n

At present, Russia has a relatively low level of exploitation of its own forest resources. The forest complex accounts for only 0.67% of GDP.\u00a0In fact, forestry's influence on GDP is at least 30%, and it is inextricably linked to many economic sectors, such as mining, construction, fuel and energy, and agriculture.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
