The volume of sawn-softwood sold by Segezha Group in the first quarter was 9.0 % higher than a year earlier at 207,100 m\u00b3.<\/em><\/p>\n

In connection with the acquisition of Karelian Wood Company (KWC) at the beginning of 2020, the output of sawnwood increased 13.4 % to 245,200 m\u00b3; KWC is geared to an annual production capacity of 250,000 m\u00b3 of sawn softwood.<\/p>\n

In April, Ksilotek-Siberia, located on the grounds of the Siberian sawmill LDK 1, put a second pellet line into operation with an annual production capacity of approximately 30,000 t, raising the facility\u2019s total annual pellet production capacity to around 110,500 t.<\/p>\n

The group\u2019s plywood works sold 48,900 m\u00b3 of plywood in the first three months, an increase of 30.7 % against the same period of last year. The growth was attributable to favourable sales conditions and the widened spectrum of products.<\/p>\n

The output rose by 3.1 % to 49,500 m\u00b3. The main factor contributing to the growth was the second production line put into service at the birch-plywood works in Vyatsky, Kirov oblast, in July 2018 and which has been running at capacity since the start of the year. As such, the facility has a total annual production capacity of around 192,000 m\u00b3 of birch plywood.<\/p>\n

The press plates used in the first production line for film coating since 2007 were replaced in June. The installation of new press plates had become necessary to prevent losses in quality. According to Segezha, roughly 86m RUB (equivalent to 1.1m \u20ac) is being invested in the replacement.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
