The forest industry in Russia is currently in a crisis situation because of the abnormally warm weather this winter. The alarm was raised in the timber industry of Primorsky Krai, in the Far East of the country.<\/p>\n
According to Russian media, logging has stopped in almost all areas of the region due to the lack of frost.<\/p>\n
Because of the warm weather conditions winter roads could not be build and also\u00a0river crossings that require ice. As a result, the normal logging activity is not possible.<\/p>\n
This kind of situation evolved over the years and there is an urgent need to search for new ways to solve this problem that requires time. The observed situation is harmful not only to large companies, but also to small sawmills.<\/p>\n
According to some industry representatives, the current situation can be assessed as \u201cextraordinary\u201d, reports the Russian media. Usually logging starts in November, but this season it has not even started\u00a0fully.
