The price of wood pellets in Germany increased by 1.3% as compared to the previous month. The current nationwide price for a tonne of pellets is now\u00a0EUR 257.30.<\/em><\/p>\n

A kilogram of pellets therefore costs 25.39 cents, and a kilowatt hour (kWh) of heat from pellets is 5.15 cents. The price advantage of pellets compared to heating oil is 20.28 percent in December, and compared to natural gas approx. 18.5 percent. In 2019 the average ton price was EUR 251.22 or 5.02 cents\/kWh. At an average of 6.86 cents\/kWh, heating oil was more than a third more expensive than pellets.<\/p>\n

The regional differences in the price of wood pellets in December 2019 (purchase quantity 6 t) are the following: the cheapest are pellets in central Germany with 255.25 EUR\/t. In the south the price is EUR 256.73\/t, and in the north-east of the republic pellets are somewhat more expensive at EUR 257.29\/t.<\/p>\n

Larger quantities (26 t) were traded in December 2019 on the following terms: South: EUR 241.61\/t, Central: EUR 236.20\/t, North\/East: EUR 243.42\/t (all incl.VAT).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
