Over the past eight months of this year, the Russian domestic timber industry has been showing steady growth in almost all areas of production.\u00a0So, the volume of lumber production reached the figure of 20.2 million cubic meters-\u00a0almost 16% higher than the result for January-August 2018.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

In the segment of wood panels, positive dynamics was also reported.\u00a0Industrial production of plywood and other similar materials on an annualized basis increased by 6% to 2.8 million cubic meters.\u00a0m, chipboard - by 6.7% (6.6 million cubic meters), fiberboard - by 7% (453 million sq. m).<\/p>\n

Significant growth was also recorded in domestic pellet production.\u00a0From January to August, about 1.07 million tons of wood pellets were produced from wood waste in Russia, which is almost 21% higher than the result shown for the first 8 months of the previous year.<\/p>\n

As for pulp and paper production there are some mixed results.\u00a0The volume of pulpwood decreased by 3.5% year on year and amounted to 5.5 million tons, while the production of paper and cardboard products remained at about last year's level - 6 million tons or + 0.6% .\u00a0At the same time, the output of corrugated paper and corrugated cardboard increased by 2.1% (3.7 billion square meters), and wallpaper in rolls - by 12.9% (100 million conventional units).<\/p>\n

The largest decline was noted in the industrial production of windows and window frames made of wood - over the reporting period, 308 thousand square meters of this product were produced\u00a0which is 21.1% lower than in January-August last year.\u00a0At the same time, the production of wooden doors, frames and thresholds, on the contrary, increased - 8.4 million square meters\u00a0or + 8% to last year\u2019s result.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
