Some traders called it the summer doldrums, but many agreed a general malaise engulfed the market, with overall production outstripping demand. Lethargic demand for OSB through much of the week prompted producers to entertain counters that spanned a wide range depending on volume. Steeper discounts surfaced for carloads of Southern Plywood, as producers struggled to maintain order files. Western Plywood prices were flat to down. Mills with surplus inventories were unable to sell lingering excesses.
