Russian plywood manufacturer Sveza has set up its own logging company, Sveza Resource LLC.\u00a0The company is currently conducting pilot projects for logging purposes in the Totemsky and Tarnogsky districts of the Vologda region. In addition, the company will increase plywood production in the Vologda region by 52,000 m3 per year.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

With the start of the logging, Sveza becomes a vertically integrated company with a complete production chain from logging to commercialization of the finished products, aiming for higher profit margins.\u00a0In addition, backward integration will increase security of supply.<\/span><\/p>\n

The regular impact activity is expected to commence at the end of 2019.\u00a0The investment in harvesting wood this year amounts to more than 270 million rubles.\u00a0By 2028, more than 1.5 billion rubles (21.25 million EUR) will be invested.\u00a0Sveza stresses that the external sourcing of roundwood should not be replaced, but only supplemented.<\/p>\n

With the new strategy, Sveza also intends to expand its product portfolio to include advanced organic products and green energy based on the integrated processing of renewable forest resources.<\/p>\n

In addition, Sveza also wants to increase the production capacity for plywood.\u00a0The Novator +52 project aims to increase plywood production in the Vologda region by 52,000 m3 per year.\u00a0It is planned to build a production line for large format laminated plywood and other specialty products.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
