Russian sawn timber and wood processing products exports are growing rapidly, with an average annual growth of 10%.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

According to data from the Russian Federal Customs, the export value of Russian softwood sawn timber in 2018 was about $92 million, an increase of nearly 38% compared to 2017. During the survey period, the export volume of softwood sawn timber increased year by year, increasing by 85.5% compared with 2015 in 2018, and an increase of 81% over 2016.<\/p>\n

In 2018, Russia's export of hardwood sawn timber increased 2.7 times compared with 2017, reaching 2.9 million US dollars; in 2017, the export volume of broad-leaved sawn timber increased 15 times compared with 2016, to 1 million US dollars, and the export value in 2016 was 72,000 dollars.<\/p>\n

The Northwest Federal District has been the leader in the export of coniferous sawn timber for many years, accounting for about 54% of the total Russian sawn timber. The export value of coniferous sawn timber in the Northwest Federal District increased from $36 million in 2017 to $44 million in 2018.<\/p>\n

In recent years, the Central Federal District has been the leader in Russian broadleaf sawn timber exports. In 2018, the proportion of broad-leaved sawn timber in the Central Federal District accounted for 47% of total Russian exports. At the same time, sales in the foreign markets of the Federal District increased by 3.3 times compared with 2017. The broad-leaved sawn timber exports in the Federal District along the Volga River account for nearly 19%, and the Siberian Federal District accounts for about 12%.<\/p>\n

In 2018, the proportion of broad-leaved sawn timber exports from the Northern Caucasus Federal District accounted for 9.88% of total Russian exports, while the southern Federal District exports accounted for 9.87%.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
